The Original Cabin

When we trace back our love of bungalows in Ireland, this is what we find. A small single storey homestead with a turf-sod roof tied down with twine. If our ancestors were lucky, they had real windows and doors instead of bits of foliage or discarded materials to plug the gaps. 

This was the original type of bungalow and part of The Bungalow Collection - 5 prints depicting the Irish love affair with single storey homes.
