Reconnect With Your Wild, 2018

In 2018 a fellow participant on my local enterprise office business programme, Cheryl Rock, had the great idea of using her exclusive travel guide insider knowledge to bring groups of tourist on bespoke tours of Donegal. The project would have seen her promote Donegal up as a travel destination to new tourist categories. She asked me to design this artwork for her promotional materials and as merchandise for her high end clients.

Daithi Ramsay in An Grianan Theatre. Letterkenny had been looking for someone to do an image of the theatre building in a modern style for quite some time. He tracked me down at a market I was doing in Glen and after a few back and forths about what should go in the foreground, I created this.

The First Commissioned Piece, 2017

The very first piece I was asked to do was for a couple I know in Milford who wanted to use the Coolest Place On Earth and Wild Atlantic Way themes in a poster for their seating plan. They picked places that they had been to together and that were meaningful to them and their families. I hope it worked out well for them and I wonder if they kept the piece.

Showing My Work

I was deeply influenced by 'Show Your Work' by Austin Kleon. A great read which I'd recommend for anyone who creates. 

It helped me realise that I haven't been showing the bespoke design work that I've done for clients over the years. In fact, I've been hiding it and it's time to start showing up. So starting from the first one I ever did to the most recent, I'm going to take you some projects that I've done in my next posts.
